July 1 Update - Location Change for Some Canada Day Activities

Due to the current air quality and predicted rain in the forecast, we are moving some of the scheduled Canada Day activities indoors at Shell Place.

Please enter SMS Equipment Stadium via the stadium gates and our staff will help to direct you to the activities located indoors at Shell Place.

Please note: the scheduled stage entertainment will still take place on the outdoor stage in SMS Equipment Stadium.

Rain, shine or smoky weather, Canada Day 2023 at MIP is rolling ahead and we look forward to welcoming you between noon and 5pm today! 

Free family fun is back for Canada Day at MacDonald Island Park! Visit SMS Equipment Stadium at Shell Place on June 30th & July 1st for a variety of activities for the whole community!

June 30 - Free Community Concert & Syncrude Fireworks

On June 30, Canada Day kicks off with a Free Community Concert featuring CMA & CCMA award-winning country music star, Gord Bamford! Gates will open at 6:00pm for this family-friendly show. The evening will conclude with the Syncrude Fireworks at approximately 11:00pm. The best on-Island viewing of the fireworks will be from inside SMS Equipment Stadium.
